Victoria Vergara was born in Chile and studied at the Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia as well as at The Juilliard School in New York. With a multi-faceted repertoire she has been recognised internationally as a Carmen, interpreted in the principal opera houses in Europe and America, including the Metropolitan Opera in New York conducted by Domingo. Among other rôles worth mentioning are Amneris with Pavarotti in Vienna, and Dulcinea with Samuel Ramey at the New York City Opera.
