Soprano Eva Liebau studied at the Konservatorium Klagenfurt and the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Graz. She has been the recipient of the Leopold Figl Culture Prize, and was awarded First Prize at the Belvedere Competition, Vienna, and has worked with conductors such as Christian Thielemann, Riccardo Chailly and Sir John Eliot Gardiner.

From 2004 to 2012 she was a member of Opernhaus Zürich, and in 2006 made her debut at the Salzburg Festival in Le nozze di Figaro with Nikolaus Harnoncourt. She has since performed the roles of Rusalka in Richard Strauss’s Ariadne auf Naxos and Celia in Mozart’s Lucio Silla at the festival. She made her debut as Pamina in Die Zauberflöte at the Komische Oper Berlin in 2007, and in 2008 performed in d’Albert’s Tiefland at the Gran Teatre del Liceu, Barcelona. In 2015 she made her debut at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan as Nannetta in Falstaff, returning to perform in Weber’s Der Freischütz and Fidelio, both conducted by Myung-Whun Chung.
