Soprano Patrizia Cigna was born in Volterra, Italy. She graduated from the Luigi Cherubini Conservatory of Music in Florence and after winning international competitions such as The William Walton Competition in Ischia she debuted in roles including Zerbinetta, Queen of the Night, Rosina, Donna Elvira, Violetta, Gilda, and Micaela at the Arena di Verona.

She has performed at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino arts festival, Festival d’opéra Avenches, Wexford Festival Opera and at the Seoul Arts Center.

She has recorded for Tactus, Bongiovanni, Naxos, Marco Polo, Dynamic, Brilliant and Decca, among others, and collaborated with conductors including Evelino Pidò, Vladimir Jurowski, Ton Koopman, Daniele Gatti, Diego Fasolis, Daniel Oren and Zubin Mehta.
