Trained in the United States (Oberlin Conservatory of Music, Houston Grand Opera Studio), Marie Lenormand has sung in leading French and international venues.
She received a GRAMMY award for her participation in a recording of Ravel’s L’Enfant et les Sortilèges under Seiji Ozawa, and the Prix de la critique for her interpretation of Mignon at the Opéra-Comique, Paris.
For some years she has specialised in character roles such as duennas, queens and witches, and she has a particular penchant for sinful nuns and fallen women.
