Luisa Prandina studied harp in Milan where she graduated with full honours when she was only fifteen. As she was ten years old, she won the first competition (Bellini award) and from that time she had successful results in many other national and international competitions. She has been principal harp in many orchestras such as ECYO, Frankfurt Radio Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra of Europe, Solisti Veneti, where she also performed as soloist. Since 1992, she is solo-harp in the Orchestra of Teatro alla Scala in Milan. She also follows her solo career, playing also a lot of chamber music with outstanding musicians such as Dora Schwarzberg and Yuri Bashmet. She has done many records, also for BMG Ricordi and EMI, performing as soloist with the Philharmonic Orchestra of La Scala under the direction of Riccardo Muti.
