Tenor Matthew Polenzani has won prestigious prizes including the 2008 Beverly Sills Artist Award and the 2004 Richard Tucker Award. For The Metropolitan Opera, his roles have included Nemorino (L’elisir d’amore), Tamino (Die Zauberflöte), Don Carlos, and Rodolfo (La Bohème), among others. He is a frequent guest in all the leading European opera houses and his repertory includes Carmen, La clemenza di Tito and La Damnation de Faust. Polenzani has appeared in concert with US and European orchestras, with recent higlights including Handel’s Messiah with Sir Andrew Davis and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Verdi’s Requiem with Yannick Nézet-Séguin at The Metropolitan Opera.
