Russian bass-baritone Eduard Tsanga studied at the Glinka Nizhny Novgorod State Conservatoire, and was recognised at Operalia, The World Opera Competition founded by Plácido Domingo. As a cast member of the Mariinsky Theatre, he interpreted the title roles of Aleko, Ruslan and Lyudmila, Don Giovanni as well as Gremin (Eugene Onegin) and Escamillo (Carmen). He also sang at the Teatro Real, Madrid as Leander (The Love for Three Oranges) and at the The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts as Donner and Fasolt (Der Ring des Nibelungen). Eduard Tsanga passed away in 2017.
