Born in Bozen (Bolzano), Gemma Bertagnolli was a winner of both the AsLiCo and Francesco Viñas Competitions. Her career has already taken her to major opera houses and concert halls including the Teatro La Scala, Milan, the Teatro La Fenice, Venice, the Paris Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, Rome Opera, the Florence Maggio Musicale, the Opernhaus Zurich, the Rome Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, the Concertgebouw, Amsterdam, the Musikfestspiele Potsdam Sansoucci, and the La Coruña, Pesaro, Salzburg and Wexford Festivals. Her rôles have ranged from Poppea and Nerone in L’incoronazione di Poppea to Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier and Nannetta in Verdi’s Falstaff.
