Kremerata Baltica was founded in 1997 by Gidon Kremer, one of the world’s leading violinist, to celebrate his fiftieth birthday. Formed to foster outstanding young musicians from the three Baltic states, the orchestra has since established itself as one of today’s most acclaimed international European ensembles. The orchestra’s repertoire reflects the usually extensive musical range of Gidon Kremer, with a special emphasis on contemporary music.
