After completing her degree in biotechnology at the University of Pavia, Italian mezzo-soprano Cecilia Bernini went on to study singing at the Istituto Superiore di Studi Musicali ‘Franco Vittadini’ with Fernando Cordeiro Opa.

Recent engagements include Die Zauberflöte at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino arts festival and the role of Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia with the Orchestra Vivaldi. Bernini also recently performed arias from Rossini operas at a concert at the Savoy Theatre in Helsinki to mark 150 years since the composer’s death.

In 2016 she was Hermia in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Zaida in Il Turco in Italia, and performed Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 at the Teatro Politeama, Palermo with the Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana conducted by Günter Neuhold. Previous roles include Sharma in Matteo Franceschini’s Milo, Maya e il giro del mondo, Cherubino in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro, Rosute in Kubik’s Va vilote puartade dal vint, and Orfeo in Orfeo ed Euridice.
