Natale De Carolis began his studies with Renato Guelfi and completed them with Maria Vittoria Romano. He was the first prize winner of the Treviso Toti Dal Monte Competition and made his professional début in 1983 at the A. Belli Teatro Lirico Sperimentale of Spoleto in the rôle of Don Basilio in Il barbiere di Siviglia. Renowned around the world as one of the best interpreters of the main Rossini and Mozart rôles, Natale De Carolis made his début at the Teatro alla Scala on the opening night of the 1987/8 season in Don Giovanni with Riccardo Muti.
