Italian-born soprano Serena Farnocchia, winner of the Luciano Pavarotti International Voice Competition, began her career at the Accademia del Teatro alla Scala in Milan, where she made her debut as Donna Anna in Don Giovanni. She subsequently performed in numerous operas by Mozart and Donizetti, including Maria Stuarda and Anna Bolena, before appearing in roles such as Alice (Falstaff), Leonora (Il trovatore), Elisabetta (Don Carlo) and as Aida.
Farnocchia is regularly invited to perform in prestigious international theatres such as the Bayerische Staatsoper, Teatro alla Scala, Teatro La Fenice, New National Theatre Tokyo and with the Lyric Opera of Chicago and Canadian Opera Company. She has worked with numerous eminent conductors, including Riccardo Muti, Roberto Abbado, Vladimir Jurowski and Zubin Mehta.
