Hailed by The New York Times as “deeply expressive” for his groundbreaking recording of Bach’s Goldberg Variations, Pius Cheung is widely known as one of the most important percussionists of his generation.

He has performed solo concerts globally in venues such as Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, and the National Center for the Performing Arts in Beijing.

As a composer, he has been commissioned by Dame Evelyn Glennie, the Ju Percussion Group and the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra.

Cheung is currently an Assistant Professor of Percussion at the University of Oregon, Yamaha Performing Artist and Innovative Percussion Artist.
