Martin Mitterrutzner trained with Brigitte Fassbaender, and began his early career at the Tyrolean State Theatre before becoming a member of Frankfurt Opera from 2011 to 2019.

Guest engagements have taken him to the Zürich Opera House (Die Zauberflöte), Theater an der Wien (Don Giovanni), Semperoper Dresden (Così fan tutte, Die Zauberflöte), as well as the Salzburg (Ariadne auf Naxos, Così fan tutte) and Aix-en-Provence Festivals (Mozart’s Requiem in a setting by Calixto Bieito).

Mitterrutzner enjoys an active concert career, and has made guest appearances with the International Bach Academy of Stuttgart, the Bavarian Radio Choir and Symphony Orchestra, Concentus Musicus Wien, Montreal Symphony Orchestra and The Cleveland Orchestra.
