Soprano Sarah Shafer performs with major opera companies throughout the United States and abroad including the Metropolitan Opera, the San Francisco Opera, the San Diego Opera, Opera Philadelphia and Glyndebourne. Equally at home in standard and contemporary repertoire, she created two leading roles in world premiere productions with the San Francisco Opera.

Shafer has appeared with the Philadelphia Orchestra, the National Orchestra of Mexico, the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, and the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, among others. In recital, she sings with pianist Richard Goode. She spent five summers at the Marlboro Music Festival, and regularly features with the Philadelphia Chamber Music Society.
