Tomás Cotik is internationally recognised as a soloist, chamber musician and professor. A highly sought-after recording artist, Dr Cotik has recorded 19 albums for Naxos and Centaur Records, accumulating over four million streams and receiving more than two hundred enthusiastic reviews from the international press. His album Piazzolla – Legacy (Naxos 8.573789), featuring his own arrangements of music by his countryman, was nominated for an International Classical Music Award, and was highly critically acclaimed.
His discography also includes complete opuses by Bach, Telemann, Mozart and Schubert. Dedicated to sharing his passion for music, Dr Cotik currently holds the position of violin professor at Portland State University.
He has been honoured with several prestigious awards, including the Dean’s Council Award for Research, the Kamelia Massih Outstanding Faculty Prize, a National Endowment for the Arts Grant and a Fulbright Scholar Award for Spain.
