In recent seasons, Alejo Pérez has repeatedly shown his worth as a conductor at the Salzburg Festival (including Massenet’s Werther and Gounod’s Faust with the Vienna Philharmonic), in his native Buenos Aires at the Téatro Colón (Parsifal, Der Rosenkavalier), at the Semperoper Dresden (Carmen) and at Lyric Opera of Chicago (Eugene Onegin).
In addition, numerous engagements have taken him to the Opéra de Bastille in Paris, the Opéra de Lyon, the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, the Operas of Cologne, Frankfurt, Stuttgart and Leipzig, the Norwegian National Opera, La Monnaie and Opera Vlaanderen.
At the Teatro Real, he led celebrated performances of Rienzi, Don Giovanni, Death in Venice, Golijov’s Ainadamar and Rihm’s Die Eroberung von Mexico, and worked closely with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Madrid for concerts with Plácido Domingo, Teresa Berganza and Ian Bostridge.
He has also conducted the Philharmonia Orchestra, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, the SWR Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande and the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, among others.
