Caterina Di Tonno studied at the Pescara Conservatory and the Accademia Musicale Chigiana. The recipient of numerous international prizes, in 2007 she won the Toti Dal Monte international opera competition and was awarded the role of Despina in Così fan tutte, which launched her operatic career.

A Mozart specialist, she has appeared in various roles in the Mozart/Da Ponte trilogy at Teatro La Fenice since 2011. In 2010 she performed in Rigoletto alongside Plácido Domingo and Zubin Mehta, under whose baton she also appeared in Aida at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in 2011. In 2021 and 2022 she was a guest at the Donizetti Opera Festival, performing in Medea and the 2022 Abbiati Prize-winning La Favorite.
