With more than 20 new productions every season the Chor der Oper Frankfurt masters a multi-faceted programme ranging from the Baroque to contemporary works. It performs the largest choral roles in opera literature at the highest artistic level and in the original languages. Members of the Choir are professionally trained singers who also regularly appear at Oper Frankfurt in soloist roles.
Since the beginning of the 2014–15 season under the direction of Tilman Michael, the Chor der Oper Frankfurt has received many accolades, both by the opera-going public and by critics. In the Opernwelt poll of 2022 it was awarded Choir of the Year in recognition of its exceptional accomplishments in Luigi Dallapiccola’s Ulisse.
