Born in Novgorod, Vitaly Panfilov completed his studies at the St Petersburg Conservatory in 1999. In 2003 he made his Bolshoy Theatre début as Tom Rakewell in Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress. Other rôles with the Bolshoy include Eric (Der fliegende Holländer), the Simpleton in Boris Godunov and the Prince in Prokofiev’s The Love for Three Oranges.
