Born in Dresden, Radio France Chorus-master Matthias Brauer studied organ and conducting in Dresden and Weimar and was choir director at the National Theatre Weimar and the Berlin Staatsoper. From 1995 to 2007 he was Chorus Director at the Dresden Semperoper. He is a regular guest conductor of many choirs on German radio and also works in Amsterdam, Prague, Rome and Shangaï. In 2006 he was appointed Musical Director of the Choeur de Radio France.
