Tenor Filippo Pina Castiglioni was born in Milan and studied with Renato Ercolani and Alfredo Kraus.

A prizewinner of the International Mattia Battistini Competition in 1987, he began his career singing bel canto roles.

He has sung in all the leading Italian theatres and at the Spoleto Dei Due Mondi Festival, Festival delle Nazioni – Citta di Castello, Taormina Opera Festival and Baroque Days, Melk. Other engagements have taken him worldwide, and he also enjoys a busy concert career, with an emphasis on chamber and sacred music.

His discography includes recordings released by Hungaroton, La Bottega Discantica, Bongiovanni, Nuova Era, Tactus, Ricordi/BMG and Dynamic.
