Amaia Zipitria was born in Andoain (Gipuzkoa), studying there with Luis Fraca and Myriam Ulanga, in San Sebastián with Gonzalo Trevijano, in Bayonne with Mme. Doué and at the Rotterdam Conservatory with Barbara Grajewska. She was a member of the Spanish National Youth Orchestra from 1993 to 1998 and has collaborated with leading orchestras in Spain and in the Basque Country, in addition to chamber music performances and concert activities throughout Spain and elsewhere in Europe.
