Ming-Hsiu Yen has collaborated with conductors such as Osmo Vänskä, Shao-Chia Lü, and Alexander Drčar, and with orchestras including the Minnesota Orchestra and the Taiwan Philharmonic. She was awarded the Yoshiro Irino Memorial Prize and the Heckscher Composition Prize, among others. Ms Yen holds degrees in composition and piano performance from the University of Michigan and the Eastman School of Music. Her primary composition teachers have included Bright Sheng, William Bolcom, Christopher Rouse, Steven Stucky, and Gordon-Wen Chin. She is currently assistant professor at the Taipei National University of the Arts.
