The tenor Arturo Chacón-Cruz has made many important international débuts, with the Staatsoper Berlin and the Teatro Comunale di Bologna in La bohème, with the Teatro Regio di Torino as Hoffmann in Les contes d’Hoffmann, and Washington National Opera as Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly. He has also been heard as Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, and made appearances in Valencia, the Los Angeles Opera and at the Festival de Radio France in Montpellier. He has had the honour of being mentored by two of the most important tenors of our time, Plácido Domingo and Ramon Vargas.

Arturo Chacón-Cruz is a graduate of the Houston Grand Opera Studio and is also a graduate of Boston University, San Francisco Opera’s Merola program and SIVAM. His many awards include first place and audience award at the 2003 Eleanor McCollum Competition in Houston Grand Opera. He was the winner of the New England Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, and Operalia 2005. He was also the recipient of the Ramón Vargas Grant given by Ramón Vargas and Pro Ópera in Mexico.
